Our organization returned to Treetops Restaurant in Manoa Valley to celebrate its 84th anniversary. Enjoy the photos from this special gathering, where we honored our members age 80 and better.

Annual Shinnen Enkai New Year's Party and Annual Meeting
We celebrated the 80th Anniversary of our organization at the Governor's mansion to reflect the auspicious nature of our event. Washington Place is a historic Hawaii treasure and is a living museum where many governors have resided. In addition, it was the historic home Hawaii's last Queen.
Nisei Veterans Endowed Forum Series
An invitation to the fifth event in the "Universal Values for a Democratic Society - Nisei Veterans Endowed Forum Series," featuring Leila S. Meyerratken. Meyerratken, a middle school teacher in Lafayette, Indiana, guided her students in the creation of a quilt entitled "120,000 Tassel Tapestry" that represent the experiences of persons of Japanese ancestry in the wake of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
